Meet Our Staff

Kettunen Center – Tustin, Michigan

Chris Gentry

Chris was named director of Kettunen Center in June 2012.  He has 25 years of non-profit organizational leadership and management experience in a variety of roles, including manager of a 180-acre facility in Ohio. Chris brings experience in facilities management, environmental and outdoor education delivery management, fund development, marketing and personnel administration to Kettunen Center.

Fun Fact:  Chris is #1 of 14 total kids, meaning he has 13 biological siblings!

Jamie Mielke-Mitchell

Jamie Mielke-Mitchell joined the Kettunen Center staff in the fall of 2006. Jamie schedules all the events/conference at the center. She has received her Conference Center Professional (CCP) certification through the International Association of Conference Center Administrators (IACCA). She enjoys meeting coordinators after all the planning discussions and seeing their hard work come alive.

Fun Fact:  Jamie has played the trumpet since 1989 and is still involved in a community band.

Angie Draper

Angie Draper has worked at Kettunen Center since April 2017. She is Kettunen Center’s Business Administrator/Human Resource Coordinator. She is responsible for managing and administrating financial and business affairs for Kettunen Center and the Michigan 4-H Foundation Human Resources. Angie has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, as well as an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Computers.

Fun Fact:  Angie enjoys genealogy and walking around cemeteries.

Diana Horton

Diana has worked at Kettunen Center since the spring of 2011 and has over 35 years’ experience in the food industry. Diana enjoys cooking for her family and friends.

Fun Facts:  Diana especially loves being in the kitchen with her identical twin sister and bouncing ideas off of each other.  Diana is also a dog lover who own’s 5 dogs.

Cookie Holmes

Cookie Holmes is the Housekeeping Manager at Kettunen Center. Cookie enjoys making all Kettunen Center guests feel like they are at home by making our rooms as clean and as fresh as possible. She has been in the hospitality business for over 20 years.

Fun Fact:  Cookie really enjoying doing crafts.

Steve Neuman

Steve Neuman is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds as well as overseeing and scheduling the maintenance and guest service staff.

Fun Fact:  Steve is fluent in Dutch.

Nicole Coats-Quales

Nicole’s primary responsibilities are to develop and implement sales and marketing plans…. essentially to spread the word telling everyone how fantastic Kettunen Center is so that they come and give it us a try!  Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family.

Fun Fact:  As a blended family, Nicole and her husband share 8 kids.
